Health Camp

Kalyani partnered with Malpi International School, Lightening Nepal, and Quest Pharmaceuticals to organize a general health camp at one of the worst affected districts, Kavrepalanchowk. As Kavrepalanchowk was one of the districts hit hardest by the earthquake with 93% of its health facilities completely or partially damaged, Kalyani and its supporting partners organized general health camp on 8th and 9th August, 2015 in Shree Parbati Higher Secondary School, Panauti and Bhaleshwor Higher Secondary School, Dhumkharka respectively. The main objective of this camp was to reach as many disaster affected people of Panauti and Dhumkharka VDCs of Kavre as possible and provide them with health care service. Similarly, hygiene promotion, distribution of hygiene kits and reusable sanitary pads was another objective of this camp. As it was a general health camp, target group for health checkup was not segregated. Both males and females of all age group were welcomed to the camp.

A total of 686 people benefitted from the camp (213 from Dhumkharka and 473 from Panauti). Hygiene kits were distributed to all beneficiaries while the reusable sanitary pads were provided to 40 menstruating females (15 from Dhumkharka and 25 from Panauti).
